The $3.28 tip makes the waiter mad. When a surprise letter shows up days later, eyes get really big.

It’s important to make a good first impression, but second chances can be even more powerful.

A server in Los Angeles wrote on social media about a frustrating experience with a group of teens who got great service but didn’t leave much of a tip. This happens all the time to waiters who depend on tips to make ends meet.

A week later, one of the teens wrote the server a moving apology and explained what they had done wrong. Because they weren’t used to doing it, they forgot to leave a tip. When they realized their mistake, they sent the right amount of money along with a sincere apology. This kind action not only fixed the mistake, but it also made the server believe that people can be kind again.

The story shows how important second chances are and how important it is to take responsibility for your deeds.
