I Helped Plan My SIL’s Wedding, Baked the Cake, Paid for the Catering – Then Found Out on the Wedding Day I Wasn’t Invited

I had spent months helping my sister-in-law plan her wedding. I helped her pick the venue, designed the invitations, and even baked her wedding cake from scratch. When she ran short on funds, I stepped in and paid for the catering. I never expected a “thank you,” but I also never expected what happened next.

The morning of the wedding, I got dressed, excited to celebrate. That’s when my brother pulled me aside and awkwardly admitted, “Listen… Lisa decided to keep the guest list small. You’re not actually invited.”

I laughed, thinking it was a joke—until I saw the wedding program. My name was nowhere. My seat? Nonexistent. They had no problem accepting my help but didn’t want me at the event.

I walked away, taking the wedding cake with me. Later, I got furious texts asking where the cake was. My response? “Oh, I thought you wanted to keep things small.”
