American Airlines Plane Caught Fire

On March 13, 2025, American Airlines Flight 1006 experienced engine issues shortly after departing Colorado Springs, forcing the crew to divert the Boeing 737-800 to Denver International Airport. The aircraft landed safely, but one engine caught fire while taxiing to the gate. Passengers, including 172 passengers and 6 crew members, were evacuated using emergency slides, with 12 individuals treated for minor injuries. American Airlines praised the crew, airport staff, and first responders for their swift action. A replacement aircraft was arranged to continue the journey to Dallas-Fort Worth. The FAA is investigating the incident.

Earlier, on February 23, 2025, American Airlines Flight 292 was diverted to Rome after a bomb threat was received. The flight, originally en route from New York to New Delhi, was escorted by military jets for safety, with fire trucks positioned on the runway. Passengers, including 199 passengers and 15 crew members, landed safely, and a thorough inspection of the aircraft followed. No bomb was found, and after security procedures, the flight was cleared to depart the next day after remaining overnight in Rome due to crew rest regulations. The incident is still under investigation.
