Rosie O’Donnell Moves to Ireland, Citing U.S. Politics
Rosie O’Donnell has left the U.S. for Ireland, saying it was the best decision for her and her 12-year-old child. “I was never someone who thought I would move to another country. And here we are.”
A New Life Abroad
O’Donnell shared her experience adjusting, humorously noting, “Bought a little used car to tool around the countryside on the wrong side of the road… Hit the curb three times – thought I hit a cat!!!” Despite missing her American life, she described Ireland as “pretty wonderful,” adding, “The people are so loving and so kind, so welcoming.”
Political Motivations
A vocal Trump critic, O’Donnell cited political turmoil as a key reason for leaving. “It’s been heartbreaking to see what’s happening politically. The personal is political.” She added, “When it is safe for all citizens to have equal rights in America, that’s when we will consider coming back.”Speaking Out
O’Donnell recently slammed Time magazine for naming Trump Man of the Year, saying, “Man of the year, Donald Trump. Well, f**k you Time Magazine… How about most dangerous man of the year?” Despite challenges, she assured fans, “We needed to take care of ourselves and follow through.”
