Experts claim mankind will die in world-ending ‘cosmic hell’ revealing the exact time the horrific event will occur

The end of the world has long fascinated scientists and storytellers alike. While some theories have inspired blockbuster films, a recent study suggests a new scientific prediction for the universe’s eventual fate — the “Big Crunch.”

This theory proposes that after expanding for billions of years, the universe may one day reverse course and collapse in on itself. Scientists describe this scenario as “cosmic hell,” where everything, including galaxies, stars, and planets, is pulled back together.

Researchers from Cornell University, along with colleagues from other institutions, have tried to calculate when this dramatic collapse might occur. According to their findings, the process may begin in about 11 billion years and take another 8.5 billion years to complete — totaling 19.5 billion years from now.

Dr. Ethan Yu–Cheng from Shanghai Jiao Tong University compared it to a basketball being thrown into the air. Just as gravity pulls the ball back down, the negative cosmological constant might eventually halt and reverse the universe’s expansion.

Dr. Hoang Nhan Luu from the Donostia International Physics Center added that these changes occur on such vast time scales that civilizations like ours wouldn’t notice them. “These changes happen slowly, so no daily effects would be visible until the final moments,” he said.

So, could humans survive this cosmic collapse? According to lead researcher Henry Tye, survival would mean relocating far beyond our solar system. “We have a few billion years to prepare for that trip,” he said.

While the prediction won’t affect our lifetime, it offers insight into the immense forces shaping the universe. For now, the Big Crunch remains a distant possibility — one that underscores the mysteries of space and time.
