Part 2 : The silence didn’t last.

Elena suddenly laughed.

Not softly. Not nervously.

Wildly.

“You want the truth?” she said, her voice breaking into something unrecognizable.

Arthur’s jaw tightened. “Say it.”

The little girl didn’t move. She stood between them like she had nothing left to fear.

Elena stepped forward, her eyes dark.

“You were never supposed to live this long.”

A ripple of horror moved through the guests.

Arthur’s face hardened. “What did you give me?”

Elena smiled — slow, cruel.

“Something that takes your sight first… then everything else.”

A collective gasp.

Arthur’s hand clenched into a fist.

“But you were too careful,” she continued. “Always suspicious. Always watching.”

Her eyes flicked to the girl.

“So I removed your sight… and waited.”

The girl shouted, “You’re lying!”

Elena’s expression snapped.

“No,” she whispered. “You just weren’t supposed to find out.”

Arthur stepped closer, towering over her.

“Why?” he demanded.

For a moment—

She hesitated.

Then the truth slipped out like poison itself.

“Because everything you own… becomes mine when you’re gone.”

The words echoed like a death sentence.

The guests backed away.

No one wanted to be part of this anymore.

Arthur looked down at the spoon in the girl’s hand… then back at Elena.

“You signed your own ending,” he said quietly.

Elena’s confidence cracked.

“What does that mean…?”

Arthur reached into his pocket.

Pulled out his phone.

Pressed play.

A recording.

Her voice.

Confessing.

Her face drained of all color.

“You… you knew?” she whispered.

Arthur looked straight into her eyes.

“I was never blind.”

The garden exploded into chaos.

Security rushed in.

Guests shouted.

Elena collapsed to her knees as everything she built crumbled in seconds.

And the little girl?

She stood silently.

Watching.

Because sometimes—

The truth doesn’t just come out.

It destroys everything.
