America’s most beloved family have been involved in a fatal plane crash on route to a concert.

Seven members of the renowned gospel group, the Nelons, tragically died in a plane crash in Wyoming while en route to Alaska for the Gaither Homecoming Cruise. Among the victims were pilot Larry Haynie, his wife Melissa, family associate Melanie Hodges, their daughter Amber, Amber’s husband Nathan Kistler, and Jason and Kelly Nelon Clark. Autumn Nelon Streetman, the sole survivor who was not aboard the flight, expressed gratitude for the outpouring of prayers and support following the tragic event.

Eyewitnesses reported that the plane crashed in flames, and despite quick action from emergency responders, there were no survivors. The Nelons were widely admired for their contributions to gospel music, with hits like “I Shall Not Be Moved,” “Come Morning,” and “We Shall Wear a Robe and Crown.” In recognition of their influence, they were inducted into the Gospel Music Association Hall of Fame in 2016. The National Transportation Safety Board will investigate the incident.
