The incident unfolded after Taylor and two others carjacked a pizza delivery person in Woodlawn. Police spotted the stolen vehicle, initiating a chase that led to Northern Parkway and Highgate Drive. During the pursuit, a handgun was discarded and later recovered. The suspects exited the moving car at an intersection, and one police cruiser struck Taylor as he turned onto Highgate Drive.

Baltimore County police emphasized that there was no evidence suggesting the officer intentionally struck Taylor and asserted that they followed protocol. Due to the ongoing investigation, specific details couldn’t be disclosed.

Taylor’s mother, Teisha Cook, is seeking answers and maintains that her son was not a criminal but rather a homebody. One of the suspects, 16-year-old Taron Kelly, was arrested and charged as an adult, while the third suspect remained at large. Baltimore City police is investigating the crash, and the involved officer was placed on routine administrative leave.
