He was teased as a child because of his white hair, but he looks happy and healthy now.
Many parents enjoy taking and showing off adorable newborn pictures. In this way, Patricia Williams was just like everyone else. She snapped a loving photo of her child. When she attempted to show other people his images, however, she was met with an unpleasant surprise.

Patricia gave birth to her son Redd in 2012. The baby boy’s mother noticed his white hair at two months old, but it had been noticeable since birth.
Dale, her husband, decided to look into why their son was rolling his eyes and was astonished to find out it was a common indicator of albinism. Although Patricia had never heard of albinism before, the small boy certainly had the telltale signs of the condition, including his extremely pale skin, white hair, and wandering eyes.

The pair then sought the advice of a geneticist and an optician for a definitive diagnosis. Oculocutaneous Albinism Type 1 (OCA1), which Redd was diagnosed with, affects roughly 1 in every 17,000.
Patricia recalls the eagerness of the hospital staff to see the newborn with the white hair and blue eyes when Redd was delivered. Patricia, her husband, and their firstborn kid, Gage, all had blonde hair, so she wasn’t very concerned.

Redd’s hair was so white that it glistened in the sun, she realized a month after they brought him home. Even though she tried to avoid him, he would still stare at her intently. His eyes were a striking shade of blue that flashed crimson in certain lights.
Patricia thought her kid would grow out of these traits, but she learned the hard way when her second child was born with the same issue.

In February of 2018, Rockwell was born with the same condition as his older sibling. Photos of the newborn baby boy were stolen and used in offensive memes.
Because of his appearance, Redd had also been the victim of bullying in school. His older brother Gage became protective of him as a result. Rockwell’s parents, however, were well-informed on albinism, so they were ready for anything. They were shocked, though, when pictures of their youngster became viral.

In the beginning, Dale and Patricia tried to persuade everyone who had shared the image to remove it, but when they realized this was impossible, they decided to just ignore it.
They chose to become advocates for raising awareness of the issue of bullying of children with the disease because of their differences. When doctors verified Redd had albinism, Patricia was devastated.

From the Nununu World account on Twitter:
She worried that their family dynamic would shift in the future if they had a child that burned easily and would go blind because of their differences.
She elaborated on why Rockwell’s observance was so crucial. “It’s very unusual to see a baby with white hair,” she says, “and Rockwell’s hair sticks straight up, so it’s very noticeable.”
Pictures of her son became a viral sensation, and she quickly gained a significant following. She soon learned that not many people were familiar with albinism when she was asked questions about her son’s appearance.

She was aware that most people’s knowledge of albinism came from films with a stereotypical portrayal of the condition. She felt this was a once-in-a-lifetime chance to educate others about albinism.
After undergoing surgery to correct his strabismus, Redd decided to attend a regular public school rather than a school for the blind. The operation was a good choice for Redd, and his family made the right call in deciding to have it done.
They feared that if they had Redd wear an eye patch, it would make him even more noticeable, therefore they decided against it. As Redd became older, his peers noticed his ‘differences’ less frequently.
Redd was no different than any other youngster, and he could play outside like everyone else with nothing more than a hat, dark sunglasses, and sunscreen. Rockwell, Redd’s younger sibling, also succeeded.

On April 28, 2023, Rockwell can be seen in a tape that Patricia shared from his school’s “Western Day.” This time around, the kid got a lot of love and support from online users. The infant received many compliments, including “cute” and “adorable.”
Patricia claims that it is a common misconception that people with albinism have red eyes. She said that their eyes are typically pale blue due of a lack of pigment.
