Hollywood star Raquel Welch passes away at 82, leaving behind a legacy

We are deeply saddened to announce the passing of Hollywood legend Raquel Welch at 82. Known for her beauty, charm, and unforgettable roles, she was a symbol of glamour in the entertainment world. Her manager, Steve Sauer, confirmed she passed away peacefully after a brief illness.

Welch’s career spanned over 50 years, with more than 30 films and 50 TV shows. In recent years, she also found success with her own line of wigs.

Born in Chicago in 1940, Welch discovered her passion for acting early. She rose to fame in the 1960s, but her breakthrough came with her role as “Loana the Fair One” in One Million Years B.C. (1966). Though hesitant about the “dinosaur movie,” her fur bikini look made her an international icon.

“I didn’t want to do a dinosaur movie,” Welch once admitted. “But [Fox studio head] Dick Zanuck convinced me, and he was right—I became a star.”

In 1973, Welch won a Golden Globe for The Three Musketeers. Known for playing strong, confident women, she showcased her versatility in Westerns, comedies, and international films.

Raquel Welch’s legacy will live on through her incredible performances and the inspiration she gave to generations of fans.

Rest in peace, Raquel Welch—you will be missed.
