“In Loving Memory of Thelma: Miranda Lambert’s Furry Friend Crosses the Rainbow Bridge”

“The bond with a dog is as lasting as the ties of this earth can ever be.” – Konrad Lorenz

A pet dog can be the most important thing in the world, regardless of who you are. Even the most famous celebrities rely on their pets’ unconditional love.

Miranda Lambert is now mourning the loss of her beloved dog Thelma, and she has shared a heartfelt memorial post to her pet.

Thelma, rest in peace.

The 39-year-old singer of “House That Built Me” posted on Instagram yesterday that her beloved Great Pyrenees dog Thelma had died. “I loved her with all my heart,” Lambert said.

Though losing a pet is never easy, Lambert stated that she is glad for the eight years they spent together and finds solace in the echoes of their love, knowing they will never be forgotten.

“Losing a dog is like losing a part of your soul, but the love and happiness they gave will forever be a cherished part of your life.”

“How lucky are we to have friends like Thelma. I am so proud to have been part of her story,” she said concluding her post. “We all miss you Telm Telm 💔”

Lambert also thanked her farm managers Julia and Tommy for taking care of Thelma and encouraged others to “love a shelter pet.”

The country singer lost her dog Waylon in October 2020, almost 13 years after she discovered him abandoned in Oklahoma.

One of my closest friends died today. Lambert began her sorrowful tribute by saying, “My old pal Waylon,” followed by a series of images of Waylon and his sister Jessi through the years.

Lambert has always had a soft spot for canines and currently campaigns for more animal adoptions. She gave $20,000 to 20 different animal shelters in the United States last year to support rescued animals.

She remarked in February, “Shelter pets, especially the ones that are hardest to get adopted, and the people who care for them, have always had my heart.”

Miranda Lambert has utilized her platform throughout her career to promote animal rights. She started the MuttNation Foundation in 2009 to help shelters and rescued animals. “MutNation has helped shelters all over the United States by holding adoption drives at country concerts, donating to those in need after natural disasters, and collecting donations,” she said in February.

Last year, MuttNation partnered with Greater Good Charities to  for families going through economic challenges. Lambert also opened the Redemption Ranch shelter in Tishomingo, Oklahoma in 2014.

Lambert was recently revealed as a celebrity judge in this year’s World’s Cutest Rescue Dog Contest, which is sponsored by People Magazine and Pedigree.
