Officer takes the floor with students and shows off moves that earn over 20M views

Officer Ryan Tillman, a well-loved school resource officer at Don Lugo High School in California, found a unique way to bid farewell to the students.

Having built strong relationships during his time at the school, Tillman was set to leave his position after earning a promotion to Chino Police Corporal.

But instead of a typical emotional goodbye, Tillman opted for something more memorable.

Working alongside the school’s principal and dance team, Officer Tillman arranged a surprise dance performance during a school assembly.

traditional and more memorable. By combining humor, energy, and his commitment to his community, Officer Tillman left a lasting impact on the students and staff at the school.

Speaking to NBC Los Angeles, he explained his motivation: “I wanted to make a big exit, so I thought, what better way than to dance?” His performance was not just about saying goodbye but about making a fun and positive memory for everyone involved.

As the assembly began, Tillman joined the dance students on stage, and when Lil Mama’s “Lip Gloss” played, the crowd erupted. Though it was unusual for a police officer to dance in front of high school students, Tillman proved he had skills that went beyond law enforcement. His moves earned cheers from the audience, and his performance only became more exciting when he switched to MC Hammer’s “U Can’t Touch This,” flawlessly executing the iconic 90s shuffle.

Officer Tillman’s dance became a viral sensation, with many praising his creativity and courage. His goal was to shine a positive light on law enforcement while strengthening community bonds. Through his initiative, Breaking Barriers United, he continues his mission to foster transparency and connection between police and the communities they serve.
