Heartbroken Parents Issue Urgent Warning After 13-Year-Old Daughter Dies From Chroming

The devastated parents of 13-year-old Esra Haynes, who died after attempting chroming, are warning others of its dangers. Esra was at a sleepover in Melbourne, Australia, in March 2023 when she inhaled toxic chemicals, leading to a tragic outcome.

Her parents, Andrea and Paul, recalled: “It was just the regular routine of going to hang out with her mates. We always knew where she was and who she was with.” That night, they received a call to pick her up, only to find her unresponsive. Esra was rushed to the hospital and placed on life support for over a week. Doctors later told the family, “Her brain was damaged beyond repair.”

The family made the heartbreaking decision to let her go. Paul shared: “They’re asking us to bring family, friends to say goodbye to our 13-year-old daughter. It was a very, very difficult thing to do to such a young soul.”

Now, Esra’s family is dedicated to raising awareness. “It’s unquestionable that this will be our crusade,” Paul stated. “We don’t want another family to go through this.”
