I PAID FOR A STRANGER’S GROCERIES TWO YEARS AGO—AND TODAY, I GOT THIS IN THE MAIL

Two years ago, Lisa was standing in line at the grocery store when she noticed an elderly man ahead of her fumbling with his wallet. His hands trembled as he counted his change, realizing he was short. Without hesitation, Lisa stepped forward and paid for his groceries.

He looked at her with tear-filled eyes and simply said, “You have no idea how much this means.”

Lisa had long forgotten about that moment—until today.

In the mail, she found an envelope with no return address. Inside was a handwritten letter:

“Dear Lisa, two years ago, your kindness saved me during one of my hardest days. I never forgot. I recently came into some money and wanted to pay it forward. Thank you for restoring my faith in people.”

Along with the letter was a check—far more than what she had spent that day.

Tears streamed down Lisa’s face. She had never expected anything in return, but this? This was proof that kindness always finds its way back.
