A 19-Year-Old Football Player Drowns In His Own Stomach Acid While Speaking To His Mother On The Phone

Tragic Passing of Young Footballer Luca Manolache

At just 19, Luca Manolache was a rising star for Metaloglobus București. However, persistent health issues—fatigue, dizziness, and severe vomiting—forced him to retire in August 2024. His condition worsened, culminating in a tragic incident on February 28.

While out with a relative, Luca suddenly fell ill. In his final moments, he called his mother in distress: “Mum, I can’t do it anymore… Do you think I’m dying?” Despite emergency efforts, he passed away en route to the hospital. An autopsy revealed he drowned in his own stomach acid due to excessive internal bleeding.

His club, devastated, paid tribute: “We are shocked and deeply saddened. His love for football and his smile brought happiness on the field.”

Luca’s story is a heartbreaking reminder of life’s fragility, even for young athletes. His passion and spirit will never be forgotten.

Rest in peace, Luca.
