The Pilot’s Haunting Last Words Before The Plane Crashed And Killed Everyone On Board After He Let His Children Fly

The tragic story of Aeroflot Flight 593, which crashed on March 23, 1994, underscores the devastating consequences of human error and poor judgment. The flight, en route from Moscow to Hong Kong, was piloted by a highly experienced crew, including Captain Andrew Viktorovich Danilov, First Officer Igor Vasilyevich Piskaryov, and Relief Captain Yaroslav Vladimirovich Kudrinsky, who had thousands of hours of flight experience together.

However, the disaster unfolded after Captain Kudrinsky allowed his children, Yana, 13, and Eldar, 15, to sit in the cockpit during their first overseas journey. Eldar accidentally engaged the control stick, overriding the autopilot for over 30 seconds. Although a small warning light flashed to alert the crew, it was ignored. The plane’s stability was compromised, and after an unsuccessful attempt to regain control, the aircraft stalled and crashed into the Kuznetsk Alatau Mountain range in southern Russia. Tragically, all 75 passengers and crew members aboard perished.

The crash was ultimately attributed to pilot error, a failure to heed warnings, and the risky decision to allow children in the cockpit.
