2AM Call Changed Everything

2AM Call Changed Everything

The phone rang at 2 a.m.

No one calls at that hour with good news.

I answered immediately — and heard her crying. My granddaughter. Her voice shaking, barely able to get words out. “Grandma… I need you.”

That was enough.

I didn’t ask questions. I didn’t wait for explanations. Something in her voice told me everything I needed to know — she wasn’t okay.

Within minutes, I was packing. By sunrise, I was at the airport. By the time most people were starting their day, I was already on a plane.

The entire flight felt endless. My mind raced through every possibility, every fear. But one thing stayed clear — I had to get to her.

Because when someone you love calls like that…

You don’t hesitate.

You go.
