Iconic 70s actress sparks strong reactions after walking her dogs

Dyan Cannon spent decades as one of Hollywood’s most recognizable stars, known for her bright smile, sharp wit, and magnetic screen presence. From the outside, her life looked like a classic Hollywood fairy tale.

Her career spanned generations and genres. Cannon earned three Oscar nominations, multiple Golden Globe nominations, and won a Saturn Award. In 1983, she received a star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame, cementing her legacy.

Audiences remember her from films such as Bob & Carol & Ted & Alice, Heaven Can Wait, The Last of Sheila, and Deathtrap. Whether in comedy or drama, she brought humor balanced with emotional depth.

One of the most defining chapters of her life was her marriage to Cary Grant. After months of courtship, the two married in the early 1960s. She was 28; he was 61.

Cannon later revealed that the relationship came at a heavy personal cost. She said Grant tried to control her appearance, behavior, and career, leading her to lose touch with herself. Their marriage ended after three years.

Despite the pain, Cannon has said she loved Grant sincerely and carried no agenda. Their daughter, Jennifer, born in 1966, remained the most meaningful bond between them even after their divorce.

As she aged, Cannon continued to draw public attention. Photos of her walking her dogs in her late 80s sparked mixed reactions online, highlighting ongoing scrutiny of women aging in the spotlight.

Now in her late 80s, Cannon credits her faith for bringing her peace. Through resilience, reflection, and spirituality, she says she has finally found happiness, describing herself simply as “a happy puppy now.”
