Bride divides internet when refusing interpreter at vows for groom’s deaf sister and deaf family

In a heartfelt Reddit post on the ‘Am I the A******’ subreddit, a 35-year-old deaf woman shared her emotional ordeal regarding her brother’s upcoming wedding. Expressing excitement about witnessing her brother and future sister-in-law’s vows, she sought a sign language interpreter for her family.

The brother agreed, but the bride opposed having a stranger near them during vows. Though the brother suggested their fluent sister as an interpreter, the bride resisted this idea. The woman, born deaf at six, explored alternatives suggested by Redditors, such as placing the interpreter closer to her family or providing written vows. However, the bride’s continued opposition poses a challenge to accommodating the family’s needs during the wedding.
