Malia Obama Goes On With A “New Name” In Her Career

Malia Obama, daughter of former President Barack Obama and Michelle Obama, debuted her directorial skills with her movie “The Heart” at the Sundance Film Festival. Choosing to go by Malia Ann, she made a statement in the film industry, steering away from her presidential lineage and embracing her own identity.

Born on July 4, 1998, Malia Ann carries her middle name as a tribute to her grandmother, who battled ovarian cancer. Despite her upbringing in the White House and her education at Harvard, Malia ventured into screenwriting and filmmaking, fueled by her passion for storytelling.

Her latest project, “The Heart,” which she both directed and wrote, marked her official entry into the movie scene under her stage name. Walking the red carpet at Sundance, Malia Ann showcased her talent and unique style, clad in an oversized gray coat paired with a casual blue shirt and knee-high boots, blending comfort with elegance.

Prior to her directorial debut, Malia contributed to the writing team of the Amazon Prime series “Swarm,” alongside notable figures like Rory Culkin and Billie Eilish. Colleagues praised her dedication and talent, acknowledging her contributions to the creative process.

Despite her famous background, Malia was treated as an equal in the industry, with executive producer Stephen Glover emphasizing her down-to-earth nature and professionalism. Her transition from presidential daughter to Hollywood writer and director has been met with admiration and support from her colleagues and family.

Both Barack and Michelle Obama publicly expressed their pride and love for Malia on her birthday, celebrating her achievements and growth. From her humble beginnings as a writer on “Swarm” to her current role as a budding filmmaker, Malia Ann continues to carve her path in the movie business, earning accolades and respect along the way.

Despite some mixed reactions to her fashion choices on the red carpet, Malia’s debut signaled a significant milestone in her journey towards establishing herself as a prominent figure in the film industry. With her talent, dedication, and clear progression, Malia Obama, now known as Malia Ann, emerges as a rising star to watch out for in Hollywood.
