Charles Dierkop, renowned for his role in “Butch Cassidy and the Sundance Kid,” has passed away at 87. Known for playing outlaw George ‘Flat Nose’ Curry, he died in LA after a heart attack and pneumonia, as confirmed by his daughter Lynn.
Dierkop also starred in “The Sting” and “Police Woman” alongside Paul Newman and Robert Redford. Born in La Crosse, Wisconsin, he served in Korea before pursuing acting in Hollywood.
Recalling his casting, Dierkop noted his suitability for the outlaw role due to his childhood nose injuries. He was married to Joan Addis from 1958 to 1974 and had two children, including a son who passed away in 1990. Dierkop’s legacy spans a remarkable career in film and television.
