Three members of the gospel group The Nelons—Kelly Nelon Clark, her husband Jason Clark, and their daughter Amber Kistler—tragically lost their lives in a plane crash that claimed seven lives in total. The devastating news was confirmed by Kelly’s other daughter, Autumn Nelon Streetman, who is also part of the family group.
The crash occurred as the group, along with Nelon Kistler’s husband, Nathan Kistler, family friend Melodi Hodges, and pilot Larry Haynie and his wife Melissa, were en route to join the Gaither Homecoming Cruise to Alaska. The crash left no survivors.
The Nelons, known for their contributions to gospel music, were inducted into the Gospel Music Association (GMA) Hall of Fame in 2016 and had won multiple Dove Awards. Just before the accident, the group posted a video on Instagram, where they shared their excitement about the upcoming trip. The news has left many in shock, with tributes pouring in from fans and the gospel music community.
The National Transportation Safety Board (NTSB) is currently investigating the cause of the crash, which involved a single-engine turboprop Pilatus PC-12/47E.
