Aerosmith is back with new tour dates after a challenging period for lead singer Steven Tyler. In 2023, Tyler suffered severe vocal cord injuries that left them “mangled” and bleeding. Despite a 30-day vocal rest, his condition worsened, revealing a fractured larynx. After months of recovery, Tyler is now ready to perform again, and Aerosmith’s farewell “Peace Out” tour will resume, starting in Pittsburgh on September 20, 2025, and continuing through 2025.
Tyler’s injury occurred during a concert in Long Island in September 2023. He flew to Boston immediately after the show to consult with his ENT doctor, who discovered the extent of the damage through x-rays. Despite suffering from the injury early in the show, Tyler managed to complete the performance, hiding his pain from the audience. Post-concert, he could only produce “squeaks,” leading doctors to prescribe at least 30 days of vocal rest.
Tyler expressed his disappointment to fans, saying, “I’m heartbroken to say I have received strict doctor’s orders not to sing for the next thirty days. I sustained vocal cord damage during Saturday’s show that led to subsequent bleeding. We’ll need to postpone a few dates so that we can come back and give you the performance you deserve.” A source reassured fans, stating, “Steven is an animal. There’s no stopping him.”
