A post on the El Roi Haiti website claims that Alix Dorsainvil and their child were kidnapped on Thursday morning. Alix is the wife of El Roi Haiti Director Sandro Dorsainvil.

The two were captured on campus at El Roi Haiti, which is located not far from Port-au-Prince, Haiti’s capital.

In her own words: “Haiti is Alix’s home, and the Haitian people are her friends and family. The statement said, “Alix has served the people of Haiti in the name of Jesus by working tirelessly as our school and community nurse to bring relief to those who are suffering.”

Dorsainvil claimed in a video posted to the organization’s website that she traveled to Haiti from New Hampshire because her husband had asked her to work as a nurse in a Haitian school.

A State Department official told CNN that they are aware of the abductions and are coordinating with their Haitian counterparts and other agencies in the United States government to find the missing people.

The safety and security of American people abroad is of the utmost importance to the U.S. Department of State and its embassies and consulates around the world, the spokeswoman added.
