Benji Madden and Cameron Diaz have been married for more than nine years. At 51, Cameron Diaz welcomed her second child with husband Benji Madden, sparking an online debate.
The couple announced the news with a picture of artwork saying, “A little bird whispered to me.” Many were surprised since they didn’t know the couple was expecting. Madden captioned the post, “We are blessed and excited to announce the birth of our son, Cardinal Madden. He is awesome, and we are all so happy he is here.”
The statement continued, “We won’t be posting any pictures for the kids’ safety and privacy, but he’s really cute. We are incredibly appreciative and fortunate. Greetings from our family to yours in abundance. Greetings and happy afternoon!”
The couple leads a private life and married in 2015. They welcomed their first child, a daughter named Raddix, in 2019, also without prior announcement. Diaz’s birth announcement for Raddix read, “We are so happy, blessed, and grateful to begin this new decade by announcing the birth of our daughter, Raddix Madden. She completed our family and immediately won our hearts.”
The post added, “Although we are ecstatic to share this news, we also feel a strong instinct to protect our little one’s privacy. So, aside from the fact that she is incredibly adorable, we won’t be sharing any more information or images! RAD, some would even say.”
A close friend revealed the couple faced many challenges to conceive their daughter, hinting at surrogacy, though the couple never confirmed this. “To get here, they had to endure so much,” the insider said. “Cameron feels like this baby is truly a miracle.”
Not everyone was thrilled about the news of their second baby. One Instagram user questioned, “Who the heck wants to become a parent at 51 years old?” Another added, “Omg. I hope they get a surrogate because she is so old.” The couple’s choice to become parents at this stage of their lives sparked diverse opinions, reflecting the inevitable disagreements on such personal decisions.
