Rocky, a 3-year-old pit bull at Lollypop Farm, Humane Society of Greater Rochester, has faced repeated disappointments in finding a permanent home. Since October 2022, when his family was evicted, he has been adopted twice only to be returned, including several two-week trial periods. Despite occasional hopeful moments, Rocky remains at the shelter, most recently returned in September. Communications specialist Lindsay Brewer explained that Rocky would thrive in a specific type of home—preferably as the only dog in an adults-only environment. The shelter shared a poignant photo of Rocky in his kennel, looking devastated after another day of being passed over. Despite the challenges, there’s hope that the right home will come forward for this lonely dog.
