Jane Seymour, 72, explained that she and co-star Joe Lando, 61, didn’t talk to each other for years while filming “Dr. Quinn, Medicine Woman” and it was a difficult time

Jane Seymour, renowned for her role as Dr. Michaela “Mike” Quinn in “Dr. Quinn, Medicine Woman,” faced adversity before finding success and love. In a recent interview, Seymour reflected on her journey, revealing the challenges she overcame before landing her iconic role.

Before her time on “Dr. Quinn,” Seymour experienced financial hardship due to her ex-husband’s mismanagement of their funds, leaving her with a staggering nine million dollar debt. Homeless and desperate for work, Seymour accepted a role in what was supposed to be a “little movie of the week,” unaware it would lead to a five-year commitment on the hit series.

The opportunity provided Seymour with stability and financial security, allowing her to rebuild her life and support her family. However, her time on set was not without its challenges, particularly navigating awkward relationships and breakups, including with co-star Joe Lando.

Despite the on-screen chemistry, Seymour and Lando’s off-screen relationship was strained, complicating their interactions during filming. Seymour recalled moments of tension and discomfort, exacerbated by her subsequent marriage to James Keach, a director on the show.

Nevertheless, Seymour cherishes her memories of “Dr. Quinn” and recognizes its enduring relevance. Revisiting the series with her grandchildren, she appreciates its timeless themes and messages.

Reflecting on her personal life, Seymour acknowledges the lessons learned from past relationships and failed marriages. She emphasizes the importance of communication and letting go after a breakup, especially when co-parenting. Despite challenges, Seymour remains resilient, prioritizing her career and family while navigating the complexities of love and relationships.
