Once a royal haven, Frogmore Cottage now stands empty. Prince Harry and Meghan Markle’s former residence, a gift from Queen Elizabeth, remains unoccupied nearly four years after their move to California.

In 2023, Harry and Meghan were officially asked to vacate Frogmore Cottage, which they had left in 2020 following their move across the Atlantic. A palace spokesperson confirmed, “The Duke and Duchess of Sussex have been requested to vacate their residence at Frogmore Cottage.”

Despite its rich history and the $3 million refurbishment funded by the Sovereign Grant, the property is now a silent reminder of their past. It briefly housed Princess Eugenie and Jack Brooksbank before returning to vacancy. The spokesperson noted, “During the year, Frogmore Cottage has remained empty… speculation about future occupants remains premature.”

Harry and Meghan’s visit to Frogmore in June 2022 was significant as they celebrated their daughter Lilibet’s first birthday there. The couple, now settled in Montecito, California, have expressed deep satisfaction with their new home. Meghan shared, “Harry noticed the palm trees… a reflection of their bond,” highlighting their contentment with their Californian retreat.
