A devastating incident unfolded when a police officer from the Verdigris Police Department noticed an unusual sight – a Roman candle being fired through a shattered window in a garage door at a residence. Concerned, the officer called for backup and continued the investigation. However, they were not prepared for the tragic scene that awaited them.
It was discovered that the woman who set off the fireworks was also the one responsible for bringing three kids for a supervised visit with their mother. Shockingly, the mother held the woman at gunpoint and locked her and the two other children in the garage. Despite efforts from emergency teams, including the Cherokee Nation Marshal Service’s SWAT squad, to negotiate with the mother, the situation escalated tragically. She brutally murdered her own three children before taking her own life.
Upon entering the home, police officials and emergency teams found the lifeless bodies of Noe, age 11, Bryce, age 6, and Billy, age 9. The heartbroken father, Billy Jacobson, shared that his ex-partner, Brandy McCaslin, had previously attempted suicide after he refused to reconcile with her. He emphasized that she even tried to change their baby’s name out of anger. However, he urged people to refer to his child only as Billy, out of respect for his son and the immense loss he has endured.
In the days leading up to the tragedy, Jacobson had posted a photo of his baby with a playful caption. The entire situation is heart-wrenching and raises concerns about mental health and substance abuse within the family. Lucretia Pitre, a family friend, expressed deep sadness and confusion over the situation, highlighting the significant impact of mental health and substance abuse on the family.
