Senior citizen gets a job at Walmart – two hours later he’s fired for a very unusual reason

Once upon a time, there was a senior citizen who, after retiring from the military, found himself struggling with the solitude of his empty home. Yearning for human interaction, he decided to take up a part-time gig.

His choice? A greeter’s position at the colossal retail giant, Walmart. But this tale isn’t one of a long and fruitful career; it’s a story of a remarkably short-lived job with a hilarious twist.

In his own words, here’s how it all unraveled: “So, after snagging the job as a Walmart greeter—a popular choice for retirees—I barely lasted a single day.

Around two hours into my very first shift, a boisterous, intimidating lady stormed in, dragging her two kids, all while unleashing a storm of obscenities at them. Trying to keep things friendly, I greeted her with a smile and said, ‘Good morning and welcome to Walmart. Lovely kids you have there. Are they twins?’

Now, the catch was, her kids were anything but twins. In fact, they were years apart, and although they shared some family resemblance, they definitely weren’t identical. The woman paused her tirade just long enough to snap back, ‘No way, they ain’t twins. The older one’s nine, and the other’s seven. Are you blind or just plain stupid?’

So, I shot back, ‘I’m neither blind nor stupid, Ma’am. I’m just amazed someone decided to go for round two with you. Have a great day, and thank you for choosing Walmart.’

Needless to say, my supervisor didn’t think I was cut out for the job.” And that’s how a brief, comical encounter led to a retiree’s blink-and-you’ll-miss-it career at Walmart.
