Suzanne Somers, Three’s Company and Step by Step Actress, Dead at 76

Suzanne Somers, best known for her iconic roles on Three’s Company and Step by Step, has passed away. She died on Sunday morning at the age of 76, just a day before her 77th birthday. The actress, who had battled an aggressive form of breast cancer for over 23 years, passed away peacefully at home, surrounded by her loved ones.

Suzanne Somers’ long-time publicist, R. Couri Hay, confirmed her passing in a statement on behalf of her family. The family had originally gathered to celebrate her upcoming birthday on October 16th but ended up celebrating her extraordinary life instead. They expressed gratitude to her millions of fans and followers who held deep affection for her.

Suzanne’s husband, Alan Hamel, and her son, Bruce, were by her side during her final moments. According to Hay, Suzanne’s last moments were spent in a “beautiful house,” one of her dreams. She remained very engaged in life until the end.

The family plans to hold a private burial this week and a memorial service in November. Suzanne had previously shared her excitement about spending her birthday with her “nearest and dearest,” highlighting her husband Alan, their children, and their grandchildren.

In a July Instagram post, Suzanne had disclosed that her breast cancer had returned. She spoke of her determination and the unwavering support of her family, particularly Alan, as they faced this challenge together. Despite her health battles, she remained a fighter, determined to overcome the disease once more.

Suzanne Somers leaves behind a legacy of resilience, strength, and love. Her remarkable contributions to the entertainment industry and her enduring spirit will be remembered by fans around the world.
