Newly Revealed Texts Show ‘Skin-Crawling’ Messages Married Teacher Sent To 15-Year-Old Boy

Christina Formella, a 30-year-old special education teacher and soccer coach at Downers Grove South High School, was arrested Sunday for alleged sexual abuse of a 15-year-old student. Police uncovered disturbing text messages from 2023, including one where Formella wrote, “I love having sex with you,” to which the boy replied, “I love you so so much mama.”

Explicit Messages Revealed
The texts, discovered on Friday, showed Formella and the student exchanging intimate messages. She wrote, “I love you sooooo much baby… Even though this morning was short, it was perfect.” The boy responded, “I know baby it was perfect baby so perfect,” adding, “It feels so good … It’s so passionate … It’s so intimate … It’s so perfect.”

Allegations and Denials
Police investigated after evidence suggested the relationship began two years prior when Formella allegedly molested the boy during a tutoring session. She denied the accusations, claiming the boy blackmailed her by sending messages to himself. Formella also stated the explicit content in her “Notes” app was about her husband, calling it an “outlet for her anxiety.” She alleged, “Everybody comes after her because she is good looking.”

Mother Reports Abuse
The boy’s mother discovered the texts after buying him a new phone and accessing his iCloud account. She reported the abuse to police the same day. Formella, placed on paid leave, had worked at the school for five years. Her husband, a fellow Concordia University alum, was not implicated.
