Timothée Chalamet Lauded for Direct Reply to Awkward Oscars Red Carpet Question

At the 97th Academy Awards, Timothée Chalamet made headlines for his blunt response to an awkward question on the red carpet. Chalamet, dressed in a striking yellow Givenchy suit, attended the ceremony with his girlfriend, Kylie Jenner.

While discussing his Best Actor-nominated role as Bob Dylan in “A Complete Unknown,” Julianne Hough asked if he could recreate his five-year-old Saturday Night Live skit as a ‘SoundCloud’ rapper. Chalamet’s curt reply, “You know what? I’m gonna need a cheque,” quickly went viral.

Fans praised Chalamet’s reaction, with one commenter noting that expecting him to perform on cue rarely goes as planned. Despite losing the Best Actor award to Adrien Brody, Chalamet had already won the SAG Award for his portrayal of Dylan. In his acceptance speech, he described the late singer-songwriter as an “incomparable artist” and a “true American hero,” expressing his gratitude for the opportunity to play him.
