We Were There To Watch The Kids’ Christmas Recital, But Everyone Lost It When They Started To Shake

Holidays are a special time, and there’s something truly magical about kids’ Christmas recitals. The blend of nervous excitement and festive spirit creates moments that warm our hearts. One video that’s become an annual tradition is the charming performance of “Rocking Around The Christmas Tree” by preschool students at St. Elizabeth Child Care in Jersey City, NJ.

With kids this age, expect the unexpected. They might forget their rehearsed moves and either freeze on stage or fully embrace the moment, creating an adorable spectacle.

The video begins with the children entering the stage, all dressed in matching green outfits with festive accessories. The sheer cuteness of them walking in, single file, hands behind their backs, is heart-melting.

As the curtain opens, the children line up in three rows on stage, with the words “A Child Is Born” as their backdrop. The audience applauds excitedly, and you can see some of the kids waving to their families, while others seem slightly stunned by the spotlight.

When the music starts, most of the children begin swaying their hips from side to side, even though their choreography isn’t entirely synchronized. Some bewildered kids just move their heads or stand still, gazing out at the crowd.

The performance includes some pointing to the audience, a bit of shimmying, hand movements on the lyrics, and some rocking moves during the chorus. Their teacher in the front row helps guide them through the routine.

During the instrumental break, the kids hold hands and sway, bringing a sense of togetherness to the performance. As they return to the chorus moves, the audience can’t help but clap along and sway to the music, fully immersed in the cuteness on stage.

The grand finale sees the kids raising their hands and waving to the crowd, met with cheers and applause from the delighted audience. The curtain closes, and the young performers take their bows, leaving everyone with hearts full of holiday joy.

Viewers of this adorable YouTube video have commented on how “funny” and “cute” the performance is, and some have even singled out the children who mastered the choreography. One commenter praised a little girl in the middle of the front row who not only danced but also sang, making the performance even more charming.
