Protecting our children is instinctual from the moment they enter the world. The mere thought of them falling ill or getting hurt is unimaginable, leading us to take every precaution to keep them safe.
Despite our best efforts, the world sometimes has other plans, and accidents can occur beyond our control. Jackie Fedro experienced this firsthand in 2016 when her daughter, Gabbie, received a cellphone for Christmas at the age of 13.
Intended to help them stay connected due to Gabbie’s busy schedule, the gift turned into a nightmare when Gabbie screamed in pain while using it in her room one day. She ran downstairs clutching her neck, overwhelmed by agony.
